The Fantastic World of Waterfall
Magical evenings at the Waterfall for the 2024 festivities: tours, including lights, characters from the enchanted world of the Waterfall and exciting activities for dreamers of all ages.
The initiatives will kick off on Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December. They will then be repeated on Saturday 16 Sunday 17, and finally every day from 23 December to 7 January. On these days, in addition to the daytime visit, between 4.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. the public will be able to enter the park at night and follow a magical tour.
It will start from Piazzale Byron, where visitors will be able to admire the illuminated waterfall at night with the spectacle of the water release, which will be at a slightly reduced flow rate to make their stay in the park more comfortable.
We will continue towards the iron bridge crossing the River Nera and as soon as we enter the hiking area, with the trees coloured by plays of light, we will be welcomed by the 'Talking Trees' (23rd to 7th), who will introduce the public to the magical world of the Waterfall. You will then descend to Path 3, where you will be able to enter the secret city of the Gnefri, the unusual goblins who inhabit the park's woods. You will then walk along the path between the tiny houses and then climb up to the greenhouse of the Environmental Education Centre. The heated greenhouse is home to numerous plants and contains terrariums and biospheres. Here, it will be possible to experience the 'Hidden Sound of Nature': a device is capable of converting changes in the electrical impedance of plants into music, and an expert naturalist from the waterfall will accompany the public in this exciting activity. The visit is enhanced by a video in which visitors will be introduced to the incredible, and often unknown, intelligence and capabilities of plants.
At the bookshop of the Centre of Environmental Education you will be able to browse among the official gadgets of the Marmore Falls, to find sustainable gift ideas, made with natural or recycled materials: Christmas objects, cups with succulent plants, small terrariums made of glass bubbles, objects with semiprecious stones, books and above all the exclusive 2024 calendars!
On the adjacent terrace, the journey will continue among the tiny dwellings of the elves, which can be admired up close in an exhibition, while also browsing through the small rooms inhabited by these tiny beings.
Terni is the city of lovers and could not miss a romantic 'photopoint' where you can take a souvenir photo.
A few metres away, at the Casina in the Park, there will be the opportunity to refresh oneself with hot drinks or aperitifs. Outside, a rich counter of typical products will be set up for lovers of more traditional festive shopping.
Don't miss an exclusive guided tour at night: equipped with torches provided by the staff and accompanied by a park guide, you will be able to admire the illuminated waterfall on the paths up to the tunnel and lovers' balcony. The visit can be booked at the ticket office, at the Environmental Education Centre or online.
For those who wish, the park can also be visited independently, again at night, on path no. 4, from where one can enjoy the view of all the Falls and from the Specola, the Upper Belvedere.
