Luci sul Trasimeno
The fifth edition of Luci sul Trasimeno will be held from 7 December 2024 to 6 January 2025 in Castiglione del Lago.
The village will be pervaded by scenic effects, lights and colours, and the protagonist will be, as every year, the world's largest Christmas Tree built on the waters of Lake Trasimeno.
It will be 30 exciting days, full of shows, attractions and entertainment for children, adults and families.
The absolute protagonist of the event will be the big tree on the water, which will be lit on 7 December, with the novelty of the ‘Wonder Show’, a light show that, repeated three times during each evening, will draw breathtaking light choreographies in the sky, ready to be reflected on the water of the lake basin. The impact will be visually exciting in combination with the 2,400 perimeter lights and 250 interior lamps adorning a tree capable of extending 1,080 metres in length and 50 metres in width, thanks to 7,165 metres of cable supported by 166 supporting poles, and using 100 per cent electricity from renewable sources.
The tree will only be visible by crossing a route that promises great impact especially for children, made up of lights and engaging attractions such as the ‘Father Christmas Xmas Garden’, with the possibility of meeting Santa Claus and his helpers, amidst enchanting surprises and lots of games, and the ‘Sentiero del Presepe’ (Crib Trail) in a fantastic setting full of magic. Inside, there will also be the brand new ‘Xmas Café’, which will be preceded by the area reserved for the truly great novelty 2024 in a location accessible to all: in fact, ‘Chocolake’, a sweet interlude signed by Eurochocolate, an event ready to land for the first time at Lake Trasimeno with its own stands where it will be possible to taste and purchase dozens of types of chocolate, will be arriving in Castiglione del Lago.
But that's not all: by popular demand, the ‘Ghiaccio Park’ will once again be present, with a totally renovated ice skating rink, the traditional ‘Villaggio dei Mercatini’ with the best handicrafts and a wide variety of typical products, ‘Castiglione del Lego’ for a triumph of coloured bricks and record-breaking constructions, and the displays along the streets of the historic centre.
