On top of a hill, almost opposite from Guardea Vecchia, is the castle of Poggiorimasto, unchanged for over a thousand years. It was probably built at the beginning of the 11th century, incorporating existing structures.

It has always been home of celebrities: Lucrezia Borgia, who received the castle as a present from her brother Cesare, Filiberto of Savoy, Princess Olimpia Maidalchini Pamphili, and the famous Italian-American vaudeville comedian Jimmy Savo. Currently, after a thorough restoration by the current owner, it is the Italian branch of the Club of Budapest, aimed at the development of universal consciousness.
