Holiday Special at the Montefalco Museum
Numerous activities at the Montefalco Museum during the Christmas holidays, from themed visits to children's activities, from the Escape Room game to art exhibitions
Until 6 January 2025, the Montefalco Museum opens its doors to visitors every day, with the opening hours of 10.30-13 / 14.30-17, closed on 25 December and 1 January, offering the opportunity to pleasantly spend the Christmas holidays among beauty, art and fun. Numerous activities designed for young people and adults: themed visits, children's activities and the new fun ‘Escape Room Game’. Every day, at 12 noon and 3.30 p.m., the guided focus ‘Occhio a Benozzo!’ will be the simplest and most engaging formula for getting to know a unique masterpiece of Italian Renaissance painting: the splendid frescoes in the church apse that tell the ‘Stories from the Life of Saint Francis’ by Benozzo Gozzoli, revealing details and details. Art and fun will be the winning combination of the special ‘Escape Room Game’ on Saturday 14 and 28 December, for children aged 9 to 14. A mystery to solve and an hour to get out: a challenging and fun adventure to be played in teams of a maximum of 6 participants. There will be two rounds on each day, at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Booking is compulsory, the cost is €5 per participant. On Wednesday 18 December, at 4.30 p.m., the free art therapy workshop ‘Let's discover our beauty’ will be held. A unique, valuable and free expressive experience that will allow participants to explore their emotions and rediscover their self and personal resources through a creative activity. The workshop will be led by art therapist Pietro Ricci and will address the theme of ‘sharing’. The life of Saint Francis of Assisi will be the focus of the presentation of the book ‘Il parolario di Frate Francesco’ (The Wordbook of Brother Francis) by Alberto Melari, scheduled for Saturday 21 December at 5.30 p.m. with free admission, in the presence of the author. For children from 7 to 12 years old, the appointment will be Saturday 4 January, at 5 p.m., with ‘The missing paintbrush!’, a treasure hunt at the Museum. The game will take place in 4 teams with a maximum of 6 participants each, and will last one hour. Reservation is compulsory and the cost is €5 per participant. Finally, until 6 January 2025, it will be possible to visit the exhibition ‘Life and Miracles of the Saints from Benozzo Gozzoli and Perugino to Sergio Favotto's contemporary interpretation’, curated by Giancarlo Bonomo and Raffaella Rita Ferrari.
