From 7 December 2024 to 6 January 2025, Christmas is back in Assisi, full of excitement and many initiatives, between tradition and spirituality, with an eye on the ‘Canticle of the Creatures’, the first poetic text in the Italian vernacular, written by Francis of Assisi in 1225, in view of its eighth centenary.
It will be possible to take part in markets, itinerant shows, concerts, diffuse nativity scenes, Father Christmas' House, Christmas train, New Year's Eve, Befana in the square and much more.
Among the novelties of this edition is the ‘DeMusicAssisi Winter Edition’ festival, which will transform Assisi into a stage for medieval music. During the festivities, the sounds of medieval Christmas music will resound through the streets of the city, with free concerts, workshops and performances inspired by tradition.
