From 27 June to 3 July 2024, Magione and Perugia will host the 19th edition of the international Trasimeno Music Festival under the artistic direction of Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt. The festival will feature internationally renowned classical music performers and talented young musicians, who will take turns on stages set up in evocative locations: in Perugia, the Basilica of San Pietro, the Oratory of San Francesco dei Nobili and the Auditorium San Francesco al Prato; in Magione, the Castle of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta; in San Savino, a hamlet of the municipality of Magione, the Piazzetta of the lakeside village. The festival will open on 26 June with the free inaugural concert 'Anteprima Festival', in the Piazzetta of the village of San Savino (hamlet of the municipality of Magione) overlooking Lake Trasimeno, where Angela Hewitt on piano, mezzo-soprano Anna Bonitatibus and Petrit Çeku on guitar will perform The calendar of the event is rich and includes the participation of numerous artists, including Jordi Savall, Hakan Gügör, the Perugia Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of the J.S. Bach-Stiftung, St. Gallen with Rudolf Lutz, Valo Quartet and many others. This edition's Special Guest is Sir Simon Schama, world-renowned British historian and art critic, who will be interviewed by journalist Eric Friesen on 2 July in the Sala dei Notari of Perugia's Palazzo dei Priori.
