Games at the Fortress
From the 16th to the 18th June Orvieto will step back in time with “Games at the Fortress”: for three days the Albornoz Fortress will plunge in the 13th century, a significant historical period for the Cliff’s Town that still represents the peak of its past.
The schedule includes exhibitions, markets, performances, games, food and wine tastings for the enhancement of local products, beyond cultural initiatives, such as conferences, debates, meetings, presentations of books focused on the reference period of the event.
The proper event will start on Friday 16th June with the medieval banquet based on historical recipes, for then going on with performances and music, whereas the day of Saturday will start with the opening of the Albornoz Fortress entrance and the historical parade of delegations belonging to the hosted and local municipalities. On Sunday appointments will be also several, including the re-enactment of the Ostension of the Holy Shroud during the Eucharistic Miracle, knights’ tournaments, a performance of inflamed swords and night falconry.
