On 27 October and 17 November 2024, Campello sul Clitunno will host the ‘Festa dei Frantoi e dei Castelli’, an oil/gastronomic event, as part of ‘Frantoi Aperti in Umbria’, that exalts the town's main product, high-quality extra virgin olive oil, the prized truffle and the beauty of the territory.
The event will take place at two times and in two places: on 27 October, a full day will be offered at the Castello di Agliano, a hilltop castle 900 m above sea level, and on 17 November in the Piazza della Bianca.
Numerous gastronomic experiences will be proposed: the ‘Olio E.v.o. Experience’, among the olive groves to take part in the olive harvest, followed by visits to the oil mill with practical demonstrations of processing and oil tastings, and ‘Tartufo Experience’, with walks in the woods near Agliano Castle, in search of the prized black truffle, in the company of dogs and expert truffle hunters; among the streets and houses of Agliano Castle, exhibitions and workshops by craftsmen, farmers, artists, poets and musicians.
It will also be possible to take part in trekking on foot and by ebike, Trekking tra fiabe e natura, reserved for children between 5 and 12 years old and their parents; an excursion accompanied by the narration of fairy tales in the woods and olive groves, led by the artist Loretta Bonamente, who will involve the children in the telling of stories about trees, olive trees and oil; at the end a brunch with music at the Castle.
