The Mercato delle Gaite, one of the most important medieval re-enactments in Europe, returns to Bevagna from 19 to 30 June 2024.

The city's four historic quarters, called 'guaite o gaite', compete in contests of trades, gastronomy and the medieval market, taking participants back in time to the Middle Ages.

The streets of the town are filled with stalls and come alive with the sound of workshops in which masters of the art and expert craftsmen reveal to visitors the secrets of ancient crafts, showing the stages and tools of medieval production.

Throughout the event, there are performances by jesters and jugglers, and the four taverns are opened for the gastronomic competition between the gaite, an opportunity to savour dishes from times gone by.
