The Gubbio Christmas Tree – The world biggest Christmas tree
Since 1981 the world biggest Christmas Tree has been lighted up on the slopes of the Ingino Mount, by overlooking the town of Gubbio and lighting it up with its fascinating chromatic effects.
A few numbers: the lights that make up the shape of the tree are 260, whereas 200 are those making up the shape of the star; the tree extends, with a base of 450 metres, for over 750 metres.
The lighting will take place, in line with tradition, on the 7th December and, as every year, will be chaired by characters of the institutions, as well as of the cultural, scientific and volunteering world.
A curiosity: in exchange for a small donation, every light of the tree has been adopted and dedicated to anyone the donor wished to.
The tree will remain lighted up, from the sunset lights until late night, up to the 10th January, and will enchant Gubbio with the Christmas’ magic atmosphere.
