The traditional appointment that the Festival dei Due Mondi Foundation organises during the Christmas holidays is back again this year: the show ‘Ciak, si gira!’ is in fact scheduled for Tuesday 10 December at 20:30, at the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti in Spoleto.
On stage will be the dancers of the Pockemon Crew, the leading company of the new international hip hop generation, for a tribute to the musical cinema of the 1930s and 1940s. Hip hop and black and white cinema: two arts born from the spontaneity of movement and an irrepressible energy. With set design by Riyad Fghani, music by Alexis Roure ‘Psykot’, lighting by Rudy Mueti and costumes by Nadine Chabannier, the virtuoso dancers will burst into the black-and-white atmospheres of American musical comedies and take the audience through the musical films that marked the Hollywood golden age, from Fred Astaire to Gene Kelly, from Vincent Minelli to Stanly Donen. The show is also a tribute to the authors‘ city of origin, Lyon, where the Lumière Brothers’ cinema was born in 1895.
