Workshops at the Museo San Francesco di Montefalco
The Montefalco Museum opens its doors on Sundays to new activities, designed for a curious public of all ages. They become an opportunity to experience the museum through workshops and guided tours tailored to one's tastes. The activities are organised by Maggioli Cultura e Turismo.
For fans of illustration and comics every Sunday in October 2024, from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., there will be a ‘Manga Portrait Course’, organised by Silvia Bacci, recommended for ages 9 and up. Various topics will be covered in the workshop: how to draw eyes in comic style, how to apply the right chiaroscuro and how to create a complete face, like a real mangaka. All materials will be provided by the course (sheets, pencils, crayons, highlighters, stroke pens, etc.). The cost is 20 euros for a single lesson, 60 euros for the package of 4 lessons.
For the public over 65 from October 2024 until March 2025, it is possible to participate in the ‘Silver Visits’, scheduled every Sunday at 12 noon and 3.30 pm.
This is a special free guided tour to observe Benozzo Gozzoli's pictorial masterpiece dedicated to the life of Saint Francis, through the technique of slow looking. Slow looking allows one to develop active, creative and critical cognitive skills, which a quick and hurried vision would otherwise not allow.
Thus one can admire the authentic treasure chest of art in the apse of the church, with Benozzo's frescoes on the walls and vault, executed with exuberant richness of colour. The attention to detail stimulates the curiosity of those who observe the masterfully told ‘Stories’. The free activity is included in the Museum admission ticket.
Places on the course and guided tours are limited.
Reservation is required to participate.
