As part of the 24/25 season of the Manini Theatre, from 13 November 2024 to 13 January 2025 the new Manini Art Gallery project curated by David Pompili will take place, where art, theatre and performance give themselves space in the foyer.
David Pompili uses collage, painting, stencils and graphics to create works that are true metaphorical allegories. His creative process draws from the reservoir of television trash, advertising, news, politics, history and stock iconography. Pompili assimilates, decomposes and recomposes these images, returning them in new and provocative forms that challenge the viewer to reflect on the effects of the media bombardment to which we are exposed on a daily basis.
The artist's inspiration comes from artistic movements ranging between Pop and Street art, passing through graffiti art, muralism and the urban expressive codes of the late 1990s.
