The 35th edition of the Nativity Scene in the Well - ‘The Angel of the Morning’ - will be held in Orvieto, at the Pozzo della Cava, from 23 December 2024 to 12 January 2025. 
As per tradition, the Crib in the Well proposes a new staging with an ever-changing theme, mixing sacred texts and traditions, historical truths and timeless myths, all mixed together in underground scenes enriched by contemporary installations.
The new staging continues the cycle of the ‘excluded’, in which the Nativity is narrated by characters who did not witness it: 
The only recurring theme of the Nativity scene in question is the Angel, who returns every 5 years, will therefore be present in this edition, and will be narrated by the brightest of all angels, the favourite of the Almighty.
‘Lightbearer’, or “Lucifer”: the favourite among all angels, so beautiful and luminous that he tried to challenge his own creator. Everyone knows who was cast out of Paradise to end up in the dreary bowels of hell. But does anyone really know what this has to do with the birth of Jesus? It will be attempted to be told directly by that rebellious angel. 
The nativity scene will follow the following opening hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., last admission 7.45 p.m.
