The 31st edition of Umbria Jazz Winter will be staged from 28 December 2024 to 1 January 2025 in Orvieto.
Soul, jazz, gospel and funky will resound through the crowded streets of the town, accompanying the unique and magical experience of an unforgettable festival, to start the New Year with the right rhythm.
The concerts will take place in the splendid setting of the Teatro Mancinelli.
The programme includes, on the opening day of 28 December, at 9 pm, the concerts ‘Simply Cinematic’ Ethan Iverson & UJ Orchestra feat. Thomas Morgan & Kush Abadey and Emmet Cohen w/ Philip Norris & Kyle Poole.
On 29 December, at 4pm, ‘Simply Cinematic’ Ethan Iverson & UJ Orchestra feat. Thomas Morgan & Kush Abadey will be performed again.
At the same time, Joel Ross Trio w/ Jermaine Paul & Jeremy Dutton.
At 9 p.m., Ekep Nkwelle, a 25-year-old singer of American and Cameroonian origin who is the latest discovery of female jazz vocals, will take the stage.
Also at 9 pm, the Paolo Fresu Devil Quartet, featuring Bebo Ferra on guitar, Paolino Dalla Porta on double bass and Stefano Bagnoli on drums.
On 30 December, two concerts at 4 p.m.: the first will welcome back Joel Ross Trio w/ Jermaine Paul & Jeremy Dutton, while the second will feature Paolo Fresu Trio w/ Dino Rubino & Marco Bardoscia.
At 10.30 p.m. it will be the turn of ‘Gospel Explosion’ Benedict Gospel Choir.
On 31 December at 4pm, Ekep Nkwelle will again take the stage.
New Year's Eve will be celebrated on 1 January from 1 o'clock with ‘Gospel Explosion’ Benedict Gospel Choir.
It will continue at 4pm with two more concerts featuring Ethan Iverson Trio and Ekep Nkwelle.
At 9pm, Paolo Fresu Trio & Devil Quartet and Joel Ross Trio w/ Jermaine Paul & Jeremy Dutton will return to the stage.
