Vini Doc Lago di Corbara

Vini Doc Lago di Corbara

Lake Corbara is a man-made lake formed in the 1960s with the construction of a hydroelectric power plant along the River Tiber.

Its rugged shores continue for several kilometres into a gorge, almost as far as Todi, and it is flanked on the flatter side by vineyards and olive groves.

Wine-growing has always been extremely important in this area, and the climate is ideal for the production of various white and red wines. The more traditional Umbrian varietals of Grechetto and Sangiovese have been joined by various other Italian and international grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Vermentino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Nero, which find the local climate to be particularly favourable.
