‘Wine is born, the party breaks out’, this is the claim of Cantine Aperte a San Martino (Open Cellars on Saint Martin's Day), an autumn appointment dedicated to wine and wine culture lovers, scheduled from 3 to 11 November 2024. 
The wineries of the Movimento Turismo del Vino dell'Umbria will open their doors, as per tradition, to discover the new wine and new oil along with many other products that the territory offers in this season.
These are the appointments of the MTV Umbria wineries, reservations required:

MEVANTE WINERY
The winery offers dinner in the cellar with wine tasting on Saturday 9 November and the classic lunch on Sunday 10 (both €50 per person, reservation required). Your experience at the winery will begin with a visit to the cellar and a walk through the vineyards.

ARNALDO CAPRAI
The winery offers St Martin's Day activities every day from Monday 4 to Monday 11 November. The experience consists of a visit of the entire production chain with a Wine Expert, from the vineyards to the bottling process and the barrique cellar. In the Enoteca, this will be followed by the eno-ludic moment of blind tasting, to identify Sagrantino by testing one's skills as a taster. The wines being tasted are accompanied by bruschette with new oil and selections of Umbrian cheeses and cured meats. The cost of the tour is € 30.00 per person for adults, and for children and young people up to 18 years of age, mixed platters and fruit juice for € 15.

AZ. AGR. CARINI
On midweek days (including 11 November), the winery remains open for tours and tastings by appointment at 11 a.m. / 3.30 p.m. / 4.30 p.m. / 5 p.m. Saturday 9, point of sale open until late (10 a.m. - 1 p.m. / 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.) and St. Martin's Day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.: new oil tasting (free admission), children's workshop (€ 5), autumn aperitif (€ 18).

CHIESA DEL CARMINE
On Sunday 11 November, St Martin's Day is celebrated with lunch in the wine cellar (€55 per person, full menu with matching wines). From Monday to Friday, visits to the winery are accompanied by an apericena, from 7.30 p.m. (€40 per person, full menu and two glasses of wine included). On Saturday 9, classic pizza is served with Pizza Night (€35 per person, gourmet starters, giropizza, dessert and two glasses of wine included).

DIONIGI
On 4, 5 and 6 November, the wine cellar will be regularly open for visits and tastings (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., booking required). On Thursday 7 and Friday 8, the winery will host the ArteMagnum initiative: during these days, visitors will be able to watch the pictorial decoration of ceramic double magnum bottles by six international artists (free admission, tastings available). Each unique bottle preserves the beauty and functionality of ceramic, maintaining the temperature of the wine and protecting it from light. The event culminates with a special dinner on the evening of Saturday 9 November, dedicated to wine and new oil tasting, with chestnuts, bonfires, live music, gastronomy and art, all immersed in a convivial atmosphere favoured by the warmth of the braziers.

LA FONTE
Sunday 3 November, an autumn feast in the cellar with new oil and autumn flavours. The winery will be open with bruschetta, wine and lots of local goodness. Visits to the cellar and tastings to brighten up the day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November, San Martino alla Fonte: wine, new oil and chestnuts. The winery will be open for visits and tastings from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with chestnuts, bruschetta with new organic oil and mulled wine. To warm the air, bonfires will always be lit.

MADREVITE
On Sunday 10 November, the company offers its well-established Picnicco format St Martin's Day version: bruschetta, oil and new wine as well as street food and wine music, starting at 3 p.m. to enjoy the sunset over the lake (15 € per person bruschetta, chestnuts, new wine).

MORETTI OMERO
Sunday 3 November, all week from Monday 4 to Saturday 9 and Monday 11 November, wine tasting + bruschetta with new oil 15 € per person, during opening hours 10-13 / 14-18.

ROCCAFIORE
From Monday 4 to Friday 8 and Monday 11 November, the winery offers the ‘Blind Tasting’ initiative - blind tasting of new and old vintages. Beginning at 4 p.m. with a visit to the winery, followed by a tasting.

SCACCIADIAVOLI
Saturday 9 November, 11 a.m.: guided tour of the winery to discover the history of the estate. Together we will walk through the 19th-century rooms to discover first-hand the production process, which has been handed down for 150 years. The wine-tasting tour will be itinerant, right along the production sites: wine-making room, ageing room and barrique cellar (7 wines + tastings with local products). Duration: 120 minutes Price: € 25/person.

TERRE DE LA CUSTODIA
The cellar is open every day from Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for tastings with chestnuts and reserve wines. Closed on Sunday.

ZANCHI
On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10, the winery remains open for tastings of new wine and olive oil, along with guided tours of the vineyards and cellar (free entry, 10am to 6.30pm). In the ageing cellar, food and wine pairing experiences will be offered, with special labels from the company's range.
