Christmas events in Umbria
Cities and villages are preparing for Christmas all over Umbria. Christmas is coming with its load of magic, the many shades of lights, the colors of the decorations, the music that crosses and fills the medieval alleys, the flavors of tradition.
Through spirituality, folklore, mysticism and entertainment you will find many events waiting for you. They will accompany you until January. Christmas Cribs rule the roost here. Both traditional and artistic, living nativity scenes and even on ice, if you are a fan of Christmas Cribs you can't miss all the versions of the classic representation of the Nativity in Umbria.
It's not just the Cribs, though. Due to the high quality of the craftsmanship and the unique taste of the typical excellences, Christmas Markets are now fixed appointments of the Christmas period, occasions to discover the traditional products and find the right Christmas gift, all of this in the evocative setting of the festive dressed villages.
Moreover, the great music such as gospel and Gregorian chants, concerts and performances that will offer an unmissable show in almost all Umbrian villages.

Gubbio... It’s Christmas, from 23 November to 6 January. Markets, concerts, entertainment for children, the Nativity in the medieval district of San Martino and the lighting of the magnificent tree made of lights
Christmas at the Rocca, from 7 December to 6 January. The colors, the lights and the scents of Christmas in the spaces and alleys of the underground Perugia with artisan productions, Christmas decorations and gastronomic delicacies.
Christmas in Assisi, from 1 December to 6 January. Many events to experience the magic of Christmas in Assisi and in its territory: music, entertainment, nativity scenes and markets await you with a month full of events.
Stella di Miranda in Terni, from 8 December to 7 January. On December 8th the biggest comet in Umbria lights up again. Until January 7th, for the whole period of the Christmas festivities, the star of Miranda will illuminate the city of Terni and its surroundings.
Christmas markets in Castel Rigone, for 5 weekends, from 23-24 November until 21 December. Many handicraft products, street food, animations, music and choirs to breathe the magical atmosphere of Christmas, in the splendid setting of the village of Castel Rigone, at the gates of Lake Trasimeno.
Italian cribs in Massa Martana, from 24 December to 6 January. Here is a National Exhibition of Artistic Nativity scene in one of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy with the works of great artists inspired by the charm of the Holy Night and the Ice Christmas Crib.
Living Nativity scene in Bettona, on 26 and 29 December and on 1, 5 and 6 January. In an atmosphere of other times, a unique work is on stage in Bettona: 22 scenes recited and 150 extras for one of the largest living Nativity scenes in Umbria.
Luci sul Trasimeno in Castiglione del Lago, from 7 December to 6 January. Lake Trasimeno is in the limelight for Christmas. It dresses up with thousands of lights taht you will find in the largest Christmas Tree in the world designed on the water.
Todi Magic Christmas. From 30 November to 6 January the wonderful Umbrian city will turn into a magic place, full of surprises and Christmas events; a unique experience to make adults and kids dream, and to relive together the authentic atmosphere of the most desired time of the year.
Presepe della Stella, 26 and 29 December and 1 and 6 January. In the evocative setting of the medieval village of Passignano sul Trasimeno, hundreds of figures bring to life scenes of the Nativity in a surreal and timeless atmosphere.
Stella nova ‘n fra la Gente. On 28 and 29 December, the medieval living crib of Bevagna returns.
Let's light up Christmas. On 8 December in Porano the sixth edition of Let's light up Christmas is back with great news for adults and kids!
Spello in Presepe, from 8t December to 6 January, in the Infiorata Village, Christmas goes on stage.
Spello Splendens, from 28 December to 6 January, Spello Splendens, the 10th Christmas medieval and traditional music an bagpipes festival, returns.
International Exhibition of Nativity Art. From 1 December to 6 January, one of the most important crib events is back in the splendid Crypt of the cathedral in Città di Castello.
At Christmas, give yourself Orvieto. From 29 November to 6 January, a large calendar of events will animate the streets and squares of the City of the Cliff, offering eight different ways to experience the Christmas atmosphere.
Presepe nel Pozzo in Orvieto. From 23 December to 12 January the unique Christmas event of the Cava well, in the oldest heart of the medieval quarter.
Dal falò alle Pasquarelle. From December 8 to January 19 the XVI Nativity Scene in an itinerary that winds through the squares and characteristic places of the historic center of Cascia.
Christmas in Perugia "a riveder le stelle". From December 7 to January 6 many events in the historic center and in the districts of Perugia to see the stars at Christmas time.
Fiera Lincea di Natale, from December 7 to January 6 in Acquasparta. A journey through lights, markets, laboratories, concerts, street artists, theatrical performances and cultural events.
Once upon a time at Christmas. From December 1 to January 6, Montefalco invites you to spend the Christmas holidays immersed in the beauty of its village and to attend the several planned events.
Il Paese del Natale. From December 1 to January 1, the small village of Monte Castello di Vibio turns into the Christmas Village.
