Giornate Dantesche - Dante's Days

Giornate Dantesche - Dante's Days

From the 11th April to the 22nd May, Foligno celebrates the "divine poem" with many initiatives called "Giornate dantesche – la scrittura e l'immagine" ("Dante's Days – Writing and pictures").

Maybe not everyone knows that the first printed edition of the Divine Comedy has been published just in the Quintana town.

The editio princeps was printed in 1472 from the proto-printmaker Giovanni Numeister, together with Evangelista Angelini from Trevi and with the collaboration of the goldsmith Emiliano Orfini from Foligno, who probably drawn and engraved the characters.

Over a month of conferences, shows and exhibits until the presentation of the anastatic reprint of the editio princeps, published by the Editorial Campi and illustrated by Gianni Dessì.

Not to be missed are the exhibitions "100+1 libri d'artista, collezione Fausta Squatriti" ("100+1 books of artists, Fausta Squatriti art collection") and "Libri di giovani artisti" ("Books of young artists"), which can be visited until the 22nd of May in the opening hours of Palazzo Trinci Museum (every day, except Monday, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 to 7 pm).
