On 25, 26, 29 December and 1, 5 and 6 January 2025, it will be possible to take part in the performances of the Living Crib of Marcellano, in Gualdo Cattaneo.
The characteristic Umbrian village, due to its particular conformation and the splendid landscape that surrounds it, is the ideal location for the setting of a Living Crib.
Six out-of-town evenings, starting at sunset, in which visitors will be transported to the Palestine of 2,000 years ago, amidst magical scenery and fairy-tale atmospheres.
Around 100 actors will be present, dramatising traditional scenes (blacksmith's and carpenter's workshops, baker's, weaver's, basket weaver's, fruit vendor's, shepherds, priests and publicans) through the streets of the village, evoking the wait for the Event, which, in a reconstructed stable outside the walls, is repeated when Mary and Joseph stop there to spend the night, having been unable to take shelter anywhere. The comet, furrowing the sky of this medieval Palestine, shows the way to the Magi who come to adore the Child warmed by a donkey and an ox.
Admission is €5 and up to 12 years of age is free.
