Atelier Creativo
From November 2024 to January 2025, a series of free creative workshops for children aged 10 to 13 will take place every Saturday afternoon from 15:30 to 18:30 at the Archaeological Museum of Amelia.
The first series of workshops, ‘The Fantasy of Wood’, will take place on 9, 16 and 23 November 2024.
Children and youngsters will discover the versatility of wood as an artistic material: they will create wicker baskets with the help of a Master Basketmaker, learn basic weaving techniques, stimulating manual skills and creativity; they will discover frames and wood as a support, analysing shapes and styles of artistic frames, stimulating observation and reflection. They will visit Carlo Romildo's ‘Umbria contadina’ House Museum, where they will see works in wood and understand the importance of this material in history.
The second cycle, ‘Imagination in stone’, will be held on 30 November, 7 and 14 December.
The third cycle, ‘Creative Interweaving’, will take place on 21, 28 December and 4 January 2025.
Finally, the last cycle, ‘Inspirations in the Air’, will take place on 11, 18 and 25 January 2025.
