The ‘Crescendo’ project, which will bring to Perugia an educational and cultural offer aimed at families, with the goal of enriching the growth path of the youngest, will start from September 2024 to July 2025.
Free music workshops will be offered for babies, children and young people from zero to 17 years of age, as well as children's choirs and music therapy.
Starting with the youngest: groups from 0 to 18 months and 24 to 36 months will use E. Gordon's Music Learning Theory method to introduce children to rhythm and musical form.
For children from 3 to 5 years old, on the other hand, a ‘Musical Propaedeutics’ course is planned, while children from 6 to 9 years old will be able to experience the children's choir and children from 9 to 17 years old will be given ‘Youth Voices’.
Finally, a music therapy course will also be activated in cooperation with ‘Uno in più - Associazione sindrome down’.
The project will involve more than 30 experts in the field of music, more than 8 venues in Perugia, and hopes to involve more than 140 children/youths and to welcome more than 1,000 attendees through 15 concerts located in various high-profile venues, including the Teatro Morlacchi, the National Archaeological Museum of Umbria, Museo Palazzo Baldeschi, Casa Museo Sorbello, Museo della Penna and the Torre degli Sciri.
The entire project will be monitored by a team of pedagogues who will observe the progress of the families involved, collecting their expectations and opinions, measuring progress and results over the months.
