Church of St. Nicholas - Montecastrilli

The church of St. Nicholas in Montecastrilli is the parish church of the village.

It was built in the 10th - 11th centuries and in 1964 it was completely restored, especially in the facade and bell tower.

Inside the church is divided into six chapels, of which three are in the Baroque style and it retains painted decorations created by Zuccari, an icon of the Madonna Refugium Peccatorum of the 16th century, a wooden crucifix of the 15th century and two important paintings of the 16th century by Bartolomeo Poliziano and Archiatra Ricci.
