This is the perfect itinerary for those who want to discover Umbria together with their bicycles; the route runs over a spectacular portion of this region through country roads, verdant hills and unforgettable sunsets. It will allow you to savour the true essence of this territory, made up of nature and greenery, as well as history and country life.

Once you leave Marsciano, you will take a dirt road that certainly does not require excellent physical fitness, but a good workout does. The difference in altitude is not extreme but certainly challenging.

After about 11 kilometres you come to a fork in the road, at the height of the 'Compignano kiln'. This is a small fragment of history that represents a precious testimony to the ancient art of working bricks - a building material made of clay - for which Marsciano is famous within Umbria. Turning left, the most scenic and evocative loop of the route begins: we cross a road without traffic, made up of dirt and wild terrain, among holm oaks, oaks and - if it is springtime - endless patches of yellow broom. When you reach Monte Vibiano vecchio, you are more or less halfway along the panoramic ring.

Continuing along the loop, we reach the junction of the kiln, from which we continue by turning left towards Fratta Todina, crossing the Nestore stream.
From then on, the dirt road will cross a few villages and you will cycle alongside the Tiber until the last stage of the route, Fratta Todina.
