Narni and its surroundings, the ruins of the Augustus Bridge, the lake of Piediluco, the village of Papigno and its woods as well as the Marmore Waterfall (Upper and Lower Belvedere): these are the stages of the itinerary to discover the places where the activity of these artists took place.
Information totems have been set up at each stage with photographic reproductions of the paintings and historical as well as artistic information on the places.
The route, which winds along a path of about 20 km, retraces the roads that the same artists followed to reach their ideal point of observation and in some cases the visitor, by comparing painting and reality, can discover that the landscape is still the same today as hundreds of years ago.
In the headquarters of the Infopoint-ticket office of the Marmore Waterfall’s Lower Belvedere, there are two rooms with scenic furnishings where you can see some films on large format monitors that illustrate the activity of the Plenary painters in the Terni valley, the work of the famous artist Jean Baptiste Camille Corot and the location of the paintings in museums around the world.
Here there is also a 6D cinema where, thanks to digital editing techniques and the dynamic as well as multi-sensory effects guaranteed by the technologies present in the two rooms, it is possible to make a real virtual journey, flying over landscapes and entering the works painted by painters in the Terni basin between the end of 1700 and the beginning of 1800.
These are themed rooms set up in disused buildings: former tram stations, town hall buildings no longer in use, a public washhouse from the 1500s. These rooms, located in the points of greatest interest of the itinerary, host reproductions of paintings relevant to each area, accompanied by historical, geographical and tourist information.
The implementation of this part of the project will be completed during 2020.
