Piccolo Pallido Puntino Blu
From 6 August to 10 November 2024, the exhibition 'Piccolo Pallido Puntino Blu' (Small Blue Dot), curated by Lorenzo Fiorucci and one of a kind, featuring leading artists from the Italian and international art scene, will be on show in the exhibition rooms of the Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art, at Palazzo Graziani Baglioni in Torgiano.
The title is given by the curator of the exhibition evoking a photograph taken in 1990 by the Voyager 1 spacecraft, which for the first time immortalised the Earth from a distance of over 4 billion km.
This image shows the planet Earth immersed in astral dust and distinguished as a small pale blue dot.
This is the starting point for the idea of the exhibition, which, in the light of recent events such as war, increasing social inequality and climate change, places man's actions towards nature and other beings equal to or different from himself in the dock.
The exhibition questions the relationship between man and nature, seeking reflections on how a new "ecological" pact can be rethought, evoking integral ecology, as well as the role that contemporary art can play within new trends such as Environmental Humanities.
The answer is provided by the exhibition itinerary that includes works by artists who are distant in terms of generations and languages, but united in their reflection, such as Edgardo Mannucci, Pino Genovese, Attilio Quintili, Giulia Napoleone, Paolo Canevari, Carlo Dell'Amico, Andrea Mori, Andrea Marinelli, Danilo Fiorucci, Francesco Capponi and Ilaria Pennoni.
The exhibition is a journey of reflection on man and his social and natural relationship with his fellow human beings and other living beings, and an attempt to awaken mankind to urgent problems that are often only addressed as propaganda slogans or good intentions.
