Todi Festival

Todi Festival 2020

Todi Festival is confirmed as one of the main cultural events in Umbria and Italy, an experimental laboratory for new projects, with particular attention to the new Italian dramaturgy, with unpublished works, national debuts and regional exclusives, a springboard for national and international emerging artists, but also a prestigious stage trodden by important names of the Italian and international artistic panorama.

A lively and dynamic reality that looks ahead, which presents young actors, new authors and new directors to the fore. Classic and modern texts specially created for the Festival, a contamination of genres and original cultural proposals through theater, music, literature and contemporary art, with a great provocative charge.

Always with the aim of creating an offer as broad and varied as possible, Todi Festival this year does not include reruns of shows, presenting a different program every day. Freshness, novelty and a constant dialogue between past and future are perfectly represented in this year's Manifesto.

The tradition of entrusting the image of the event to contemporary Italian artists continues. Indeed, it is Roberto Bernardi and Raphaella Spence, united both by art and in life, who sign the Manifesto that accompanies the promotion and development of the 34th edition.

The work wrapped in cellophane plays on the very current meaning of protection from dangers, but also leads into a pop world of reflections, transparencies and colors where a Renaissance jewel like the church of Santa Maria della Consolazione in Todi seems to live in perfect symbiosis with a contemporary world that too often forgets the past in favor of the futile fads of the moment, especially among the new generations.

As a tribute to the two artists, the Municipality of Todi has planned an exhibition that will be set up in the suggestive Sala delle Pietre, located on the first floor of the Palazzo del Popolo. The exhibition will be inaugurated during the first day of the Festival.
